The author must cite the sources for any quotations used in the article, as well as for all statistical data and other information used; abbreviations must be explained. The notes in the text must contain information about the author of the publication in question, the year of publication and page numbers for quotes used by the author (for example: “...as suggested by Ivanov [Ivanov 2014, p. 15]” or “...some researchers have supported this idea [Easton 2001; Rokkan 2001; Dahl 2000]”).

All publications in Russian must be accompanied by a transliteration and a translation into English. Transliteration must be conducted according to the BSI standard using www.translit.ru. If cited works originally published in Russian do not have English metadata, the title must be translated (paraphrased); author names must be transliterated. Similarly, titles and author information for monographs must be transliterated. Russian journals must be transliterated, with the exception of the journals that provide citation guidelines in English (For citation) and/or use a parallel English title. After the bibliographical description with a translated title of the work, the original language of the publication must be specified (for example: In Russ.).
